Originally founded in Philadelphia, PA in 1968 by Frederick G Lubker, Jr., Lufasco, Inc. quickly became recognized as a leader in providing unparalleled customer service to its Original Equipment Manufacturer customer base.  Lufasco was a pioneer in developing Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) systems resulting in cost savings associated with the handling of high volume, high SKU but low individual unit cost, Class C items.

Fred’s son, Chris, worked summers in the warehouse beginning in Junior High School. After graduating Tulane University in 1991, Chris gained Inside and Outside Sales experience at Lufasco’s Exton, PA headquarters.  In 1993 an opportunity arose to manage the company’s Rock Hill, SC operation.  This was the opportunity of a lifetime in terms of learning additional skills including contract negotiations, facility management, HR, Quality, P&L evaluation, fleet management, supplier on-boarding and the overall management of a profitable business unit.

The original Lufasco was acquired in 1998 by a larger competitor during a time of intense M&A activity in the fastener industry.  Rick Lubker founded Lubker Distribution shortly after the dissolution of the original Lufasco, Ben Lubker began a career at Vanguard and Chris Lubker remained in the business, working in management roles for Brighton Best International, a mid-sized Aerospace Distributor and most recently Thruway Fasteners in Atlanta, GA.  All these experiences added to Chris’ experience and allowed for the further development of relationships across the industry.

The decision to bring Lufasco back to the market was driven mostly by the passing of Frederick G Lubker, Jr in December 2018.  Chris’ father had a profound effect on his life, leaving him with a strong sense to follow in his father’s and brother’s footsteps.  Lufasco Gen 2 will embody the same trusted and personal service as the original Lufasco.
