Purpose

Lufasco Inc. is committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment for employees,
contractors, visitors, and business partners. This Health & Safety Program establishes
procedures for identifying hazards, implementing controls, and promoting a culture of safety
throughout our organization.

Scope

This program applies to all company operations, including warehouse activities,
transportation and delivery services, office operations, and administrative functions
across all Lufasco facilities.

Responsibilities

Management

  • Develop and enforce health and safety policies.
  • Provide resources for training, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Conduct regular safety audits and address identified hazards promptly.

Supervisors

  • Ensure employees follow established safety procedures.
  • Report and investigate incidents and near-misses.
  • Provide job-specific safety training and oversight.

Employees

  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Report hazards, incidents, and unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Use required PPE and safety equipment properly.

Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment

Assessment Procedures

  • Conduct quarterly risk assessments of warehouse, vehicle, and office environments.
  • Evaluate risks including manual handling, forklift operations, slips, trips, falls, and ergonomic concerns.
  • Utilize risk assessment methods to prioritize hazards based on likelihood and severity.

Corrective Actions

  • Implement controls such as guardrails, anti-slip flooring, and ergonomic workstations.
  • Maintain equipment and vehicles to reduce operational risks.
  • Document findings and review assessments annually or following significant incidents.

Training & Education

Program Components

  • New Employee Orientation: Company safety policies, emergency procedures, and PPE requirements.
  • Job-Specific Training: Forklift operation, material handling, loading, and unloading procedures.
  • Refresher Training: Annual training sessions to reinforce safe work practices.
  • Emergency Response Training: Fire evacuation, first aid, and spill response procedures.

Training Delivery

  • Provide training through in-person instruction or approved e-learning programs.
  • Maintain training records for compliance and auditing purposes.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

PPE Requirements

  • Warehouse Personnel: Steel-toe boots, high-visibility vests, gloves, and hard hats where required.
  • Drivers: High-visibility apparel and slip-resistant footwear.
  • Office Personnel: Ergonomic workstations and support equipment as needed.

PPE Procedures

Emergency Preparedness & Response

Safe Work Practices

Warehouse Operations

  • Allow forklift operation only by trained and authorized personnel.
  • Use proper lifting techniques and mechanical assistance for heavy loads.
  • Maintain clear walkways and clearly marked hazard zones.

Transportation & Delivery

  • Perform routine vehicle inspections before operation.
  • Require seatbelt use and prohibit distracted driving.
  • Provide defensive driving and load securement training.

Office Safety

  • Maintain adequate lighting and ventilation.
  • Design workstations to reduce ergonomic risks.
  • Keep walkways and work areas free of trip hazards.

Program Evaluation & Continuous Improvement

Audits

  • Conduct regular health and safety audits.
  • Incorporate employee feedback through surveys and safety meetings.

Performance Metrics

  • Monitor injury rates, near-miss reports, and training completion statistics.
  • Establish annual safety goals and improvement initiatives.

Compliance

Lufasco complies with applicable OSHA regulations, industry standards,
and workplace safety requirements. Required records are maintained for
regulatory review and inspection purposes.

Safety Committee

Lufasco maintains a safety committee consisting of representatives from management,
warehouse operations, transportation personnel, and office staff. The committee
meets regularly to review incidents, discuss employee concerns, and recommend
continuous improvements to workplace safety.

Program Maintenance

This Health & Safety Program is reviewed periodically and updated following
regulatory changes, operational changes, significant incidents, or identified
improvement opportunities.
